ALASKA! PERMANENT FUND/PFD

The Permanent Dividend Fund was established to keep state lawmakers from pissing our oil wealth away on more government. For 40 years the annual dividend payment was distributed to Alaskans who have lived here at least one year according to a statutory formula. In 2016 Gov. Bill Walker and a majority coalition in the Alaska Legislature decided spending our wealth fund for more government was more virtuous than payments to Alaskans under the law. The People are becoming angry.
